I like your idea of using a spear on ground. It's a fighting-style that's not seen often, but I like to see it. |

So I sort of made my character's combat and weaponry a blend between ancient Persian and Spartan. The spear is more so for mounted combat; he uses the sword predominantly. Hope that's okay. |
