1. Account Support
Auto Assault Standard Edition is available at a suggested retail price of $49.99 USD. The Limited Edition is available for the suggested retail price of $59.99. Both editions became available for purchase on April 13, 2006.
That price includes the first month of online game play. However, before you can log into the game, you must activate the account using a credit card or game time card.
Players who wish to pay by credit card will be able to choose from the following recurring billing options*.
$14.99 per month
3 months - $41.85 (the equivalent of $13.95 per month)
6 months - $77.70 (the equivalent of $12.95 per month)
12 months - $143.40 (the equivalent of $11.95 per month)
(Example: Your credit card will be billed for $77.70 in one payment if you choose the 6-month plan. The $12.95 simply shows the average monthly rate - it is not the amount you will be billed.)
Billing will begin after the first month of game time has expired.
Players who do not wish to use a credit/debit card can use game time cards. They are available at many North American retailers for a suggested retail price of $29.99 USD.
Players who wish to pay using game time cards should purchase a game time card when they purchase the game.
If you are a UK or European customer and wish to purchase the non-European version of the game, you may do so. However, your credit card statement will show the charge in USD (or the current daily conversion rate for USD to GBP or EUR). Additionally, the non-European version of Auto Assault can only access the North American servers.
* As of April 5, 2006 sales tax will apply to customers who reside in Texas, California, Minnesota, and Arizona.

[b]Re-issues
If you've read the above instructions and feel that you might have mistakenly applied an Auto Assault Pre-Order, Standard or Limited Edition Serial Code incorrectly, we will be happy to assist you with a code re-issue! However, please be aware that you should expect your code re-issue to take as long as 72 hours to be processed from the time it is received with all the requested necessary information. We can assure you that we will process these requests as quickly as we possibly can.
Something else to be aware of is that the re-issue process will involve the permanent closure of your wrongly created account. Due to this, any character activity, including character names that have been used on that account, will be lost to you at the moment the re-issue is processed. If you wish to re-use a character name, you must delete that character from your incorrectly created account prior to the re-issue being processed.
To assist our Account Support Team in processing these requests as quickly as possible, we ask that you please follow these instructions for submitting your support ticket. You can submit your request using the Ask a Question tab.

The Account Support Team will process your request as soon as they reach your place in the queue.
You will receive the Veteran Award as soon as your account is billed for the 3 or 6-month subscription fee.
If you have just activated your account for the first time, you will not be billed until the included month of game time has expired. This means that you will not receive the Veteran Reward until that included month is over and your account is billed.

Please try the following steps to resolve problems with the Auto Assault patcher:
- Check your available hard drive space. To install the full Auto Assault product you need over 9 gigabytes of available hard drive space just to hold the completed installation. You will need more than that during the patching/decompressing process. You need at least 10 GB free.
[li]Make sure that your Windows login has administrative access. You need full admin rights in order to install, patch, and play Auto Assault.
[li]If available, run the Check All Files option on the patcher.
[li]Reinstall Microsoft .NET. To do this, open the Control Panel and then Add or Remove Programs. Uninstall Microsoft .NET 1.1 and .NET 2.0 if present. Then reinstall .NET 1.1 from this link. Next, install Service Pack 1 for .NET 1.1 from this link.
[li]Make sure your firewall software is not blocking Auto Assault from connecting. You may need to create exceptions for the following files within your firewall application: aapatcher.exe, auto assault.exe. Please contact your firewall's support team for more detailed instructions on how to accomplish this.
[li]Make sure your computer meets Auto Assault's minimum system requirements found here. [NOTE: The GeForce 4 MX series of cards will not run Auto Assault]
[li]Download and run the msxml.msi from Microsoft found here. Be sure to use the .msi version and not one of the .exe versions.
[li]Enable all Microsoft services and disable all other startup items. To do this, click on the Start button, select Run, type MSCONFIG and click OK. This should open the System Configuration Utility. On the General tab switch to Selective Startup and un-check the box for Load Startup Items. Then click on the Services tab and click Enable All. Next check the box for Hide All Microsoft Services, then click on Disable All. Once that is done, click OK and restart your computer. Do not start any other programs and then try the game again.
If none of these steps help, please contact our Technical Support Team using the Ask a Question tab. Be sure to include the following information:
- What exactly happens when you run the patcher? Do you receive any error messages? If so, what do they say?
[li]Are you connecting through a router or hub? If so, what is the name and model number?
[li]Are you on a home, campus, or business network?
[li]Are you using a firewall application? If so which one?
[li]Do you use any Internet Security Applications (ISA) such as CYBERsitter, Net-Nanny, ZoneAlarm®, McAfee®, or Norton™?
[li]Who is your Internet Service Provider (ISP)?
[li]What type of connection do you have (cable, DSL, dial-up, etc.)?
[li]Where are you located?

Set 'Texture Resolution' to 'Low'.Disable 'Shadows', 'Environmental Shaders', and 'Advanced Shaders'.
If you only meet the minimum specification for RAM (512MB):
Enable 'Flush Memory'.
Reducing 'Terrain View Distance' and disabling 'Draw Ground Cover' will give a slight performance increase.
To check your graphics card type and PC specifications, click the Start button, press Run, and type DxDiag. Click OK and a DirectX tool should appear.
The CPU, operating system, RAM, and DirectX versions are displayed on the System tab. Click on the Display tab to find information about your video card. The Chip Type field should list the specific card you have installed, and the current driver version and date should be listed to the right.
This issue could be caused by a number of things. If you have audio outside of the game, make sure that you do not have any third party peripherals attached that might interfere with audio in the game. Some examples of this include audio production or postproduction tools, wireless Bluetooth adapters (for use with many popular cell phones), and other similar devices.
If you have no audio at all, make sure that your volume is turned up loud enough. Make sure that your speakers are plugged in, and remove any headphones. Using a different pair of speakers will eliminate the speakers as a possible culprit. Also, try updating the drivers for your sound card. If the above suggestions do not help, try reseating the sound card in your machine. Please contact your sound device's manufacturer for the latest drivers.
If you have this problem with a Logitech® optic mouse, it can usually be fixed by installing the latest version of the Logitech Mouseware available here:
You can change your graphical settings in your Video Options menu. There are two ways to access this window. When you launch Auto Assault, you can open the System Options window by clicking the Options button on the log in screen before you log into the game. If you are already logged into game, you can open the System Options window by pressing the Esc key on your keyboard. In the System Options window, you can click on Video Options to start adjusting your graphics.
In the Video Options, you can adjust many aspects of your game's graphical display. Some graphical changes may require that you quit the game in order to see the changes.
No, Auto Assault was only shipped on DVD. If you do not have a DVD-ROM drive you can download the game by following these instructions.

You may improve your ability to craft items by improving your crafting disciplines. To start learning how to craft items, you first need to be trained by a Discipline Trainer. These trainers can be found in the starting town for your race. Each trainer can unlock a specific discipline. Once you have this discipline unlocked, you may craft the items of that discipline at a very basic level. In order to improve your disciplines, you will need to return to the appropriate trainers and pay their lesson fees, which cost money.
Auto Assault has a built-in tool for creating macros that is easy to use. If you run your mouse over the left side of the screen near the chat, you will notice a sidebar that becomes visible. At the top of this sidebar there is a red and white Chat Options button. When clicking this button a menu comes up. One of the options on this menu is Edit Macros. After selecting this option you will see the Macro Editor window. In this editor you are given fifteen macro buttons that have preset text macros. You can select these text macros and change the following features:
1. Macro Name: to a maximum of five characters
2. Macro Output Lines: to a maximum of five lines
Once you have set the macro the way you want it simply left click, hold, and drag the button down to the quickbar at the bottom of your screen. Once the macro button is in the quickbar you can click on the macro to use it.
There are seven text chat channels available for use in game.
1. General. This chat channel is designed for general chat use. Text that is entered in this channel can be read by all players within your current area.
2. Trade. This channel is designed for players who want to trade items with other players. Text that is entered in this channel can be read by all players within your current area.
3. Looking for Convoy (LFC). This channel is designed for players who are looking for convoys to join. Text that is entered in this channel can be read by all players within your current area.
4. Convoy. This channel is designed for convoys to communicate with each other. Any messages sent to this channel will only be seen by members of your convoy. Voice chat is also available for convoys, which you can read more about here.
5. Clan. This channel is designed for members of a Clan to chat with each other. Any messages sent to this channel will only be seen by members of your Clan who are online. When you are just starting out in Auto Assault, you will be able to talk with other new characters of your faction in this chat channel. This is so that new characters can help each other get started in the game. Once you become a member of an actual Clan, you will not be able to speak with the other new characters any more.
6. Private. This chat channel is designed for one player to chat directly to another player. Any messages sent through this channel will only be seen by the person you have specifically sent them to. This chat channel is very specific, so you will need to enter the name of the person you want to send a private message to.
7. Local. This chat is designed for general conversation between players. Text that is entered in this channel will be seen by all members of your faction that are in your immediate area.
There are two ways that you can take screenshots while playing Auto Assault.
1. Print Screen. Move the mouse until you have positioned the camera to the view you prefer. Then hit the Print Screen button on your keyboard. This will create a Screenshots folder in your Auto Assault file. You will see a text notification in game that says your screenshot has been saved into this folder. To find your saved screenshots, go to My Computer --> C drive --> Program Files --> Net Devil --> Auto Assault --> Screenshots.
2. Alt-Print Screen. Position the camera in the same manner. On your keyboard, hit the Alt button and the Print Screen button simultaneously. This will copy your desktop image.
